New label 'SweetBox' are serving up the tasty treats with their first release...

SweetBox is a new independent record label from Bristol focusing on music around the 160/170bpm mark. Here's our first offering: PICKNMIX001, a two track single featuring two of the most exciting, fresh faced artists in Drum & Bass right now.

Crypticz provides the lead track with suitably named 'Bubblegum', a deep, half time effort which has been gaining support from the likes of Om Unit, Doc Scott & Fixate amongst others.

Lakeway covers the B Side with 'Guns For Hire', a rowdy hip hop infused track with a serious bassline to cause carnage on the dancefloor. Supported so far by the likes of Dexta.

This album is an enjoyable paradox, caught not just between jungle and halftime, but rather, both extremes concurrently. I'm not sure whether to slide these tunes into a hip-hop set, or break it down from a d'n'b set. This unsure feeling of speed subversion and beat delusion... I love it. DJ Home Movies
