Bokeh & Lowquid step up to SweetBox for PICKNMIX003...
Auckland based duo Bokeh & Lowquid both qualify as noteworthy producers in their own right, between them gathering support from the likes of Plastician, Impey and more. As a duo they now present their debut single on the label.
'Jelly Tip' sees the duo comfortably step outside their usual territory into the real of the increasingly popular 85/170bpm halftime sound. The dup's distinct grime influence is combined with deep bass, intricate percussions and chopped vocals. Early support from Crypticz & Mauoq.
An even darker effort appears on the B side in the form of 'Carbon'. A deadly, dangerous grime influenced track that sits at 125bpm which slips in and out of a house/techno rhythm. Carbon has seen support already from the likes of Artroniks & Lakeway.

This album is an enjoyable paradox, caught not just between jungle and halftime, but rather, both extremes concurrently. I'm not sure whether to slide these tunes into a hip-hop set, or break it down from a d'n'b set. This unsure feeling of speed subversion and beat delusion... I love it. DJ Home Movies
I don't just love this record. I absolutely love all of them. This one just reminds me of good parties dropping this from youtube to my friends who had no idea what was coming to blow their brains haha! Thank you so much for making music that makes people happy. Brad Painter bradleyjpainter
